Schönbrunn

The paddle steamer Schönbrunn was built in 1912 for the erstwhile DDSG at an in-house shipyard in Hungary. She is the last paddlesteamer in service on the Danube. After her retirement from regular service Schönbrunn served as a casino in Budapest and as an exhibition center in Engelhartszell before ÖGEG (a private railway enthusiasts society) took possesion of the vessel.
Schönbrunn has been restored and undertakes occasional trips from her new homeport Linz. Click here for her schedule. You can see Schönbrunn on this webcam when she is in Linz.
Some photos of Schönbrunn are found at Tramscape, wikipedia (German) and at www.schaufelraddampfer.de.
On June 23rd 2009 Schönbrunn has been severely damaged in a collision with the passenger vessel Avalon Tranquility. For pictures of the damaged Schönbrunn go to www.picturenews.at or www.mediabox.at.
