Belle of Louisville
The excursion vessel Belle of Louisville, the oldest steamboat in service, a National Historic Landmark, was built in 1914 as the Idlewild. In 1947 she was renamed Avalon and since 1962 she bears the name Belle of Louisville after having been rebuilt under the supervision of Allan L. Bates.
